Quality of Life Second to None

When you choose to make your home in Springfield, Ohio, you can rest assured you’ll have a great life at a great price. In fact, Forbes magazine recognized our affordable living and great quality of life ranking Springfield the 8th best place to live in the United States.

Whether your dream home is a country estate situated on a few acres of land, an urban loft positioned in the center of downtown, a turn-of-the century renovation project, or a home in a tree-lined, close-knit neighborhood, Springfield’s rich inventory of homes will help you find what you desire at a competitive price.

Springfield is the right location for easy access to work, home and fun. The very thing that makes the community easy to get around in for social, business and recreational purposes also makes it easy to get around in, period. Those who live and work in Greater Springfield have no commutes to speak of. Instead, they use their “drive time” to head to Columbus to see the Blue Jackets or Buckeyes, to Dayton to see a University of Dayton game or the minor league Reds affiliate, the Dayton Dragons. And, in just a few more minutes they can be at the Great American Ballpark or the zoo in Cincinnati, or slip across the river to the Newport Kentucky Aquarium.

The legacy of Arts and Culture lives on in a city that boasts its own symphony orchestra, a Frank Lloyd Wright museum, a Smithsonian-affiliate Art Museum and the longest-running free Arts Festival in the country.

Springfield's outdoor recreation amenities are almost limitless. We sit at the hub of a 330-mile paved trail network, boast a 2100-acre recreational lake, feature whitewater kayaking runs in our downtown and serve as home to dozens of community parks and greenspaces.

In Springfield and Clark County, students are afforded educational opportunities that will not only lead them into a wider world but to an understanding of how they can contribute by staying in their own communities.

The Springfield City School District holds classes in 10 recently constructed elementary schools, 3 recently constructed middle schools, the Keifer Alternative School and the spacious Springfield High School.

The former South High School - now renamed The DOME - houses a regionally renowned STEM school (the Global Impact Stem Academy), and a state-of-the-art tech and creative learning center called CareerConnectED.

Our six county school districts consistently rate high in the Ohio Board of Education’s Report Card. Recently, we were among only a few counties in Ohio to have all of our county schools rated excellent to excellent with distinction.
