December 14, 2021
Emmanuel Christian Academy hosted Kelcie Webster from Springfield’s Convention and Visitors Bureau for a recent industry awareness event. 16 students who were identified as having an aptitude for the Hospitality and Tourism industry attended the presentation to learn more about the Convention Visitors Bureau, the work they do and what opportunities exist for those looking to pursue a career in Hospitality and Tourism.
Kelcie Webster, Visitor Center and Marketing Coordinator, spoke of her own personal career story, what her role in the industry looks like, and how students can work in it part-time and/or prepare for long term careers. “We are pleased that Emmanuel Christian Academy hosted the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Through events like these we are opening doors for students and creating awareness about the diverse career paths that exist within Springfield and Clark County,” said Kendra Burnside, Talent and Education Coordinator for the Greater Springfield Partnership. Thank you to Kelcie for sharing her story and answering student questions.”
