News

Springfield and Clark County are centrally located in Ohio, providing easy access to the Dayton and Columbus markets. Beyond that, the city itself is growing rapidly, becoming a destination for families looking for a community that offers it all - good schools, parks, activities and affordable housing.

New Businesses in Springfield

Business owners have discovered Springfield and the city’s connectivity to other markets. As a result, new businesses are popping up around town, adding to our city’s charm and vibrancy.

Some of the newer businesses include:

Firefly Botique

Located in Downtown Springfield off Fountain Avenue, the Firefly Botique sells trendy clothing and accessories. Owner Kristine Baggs told The Hub Springfield that the store has clothing for a wide range of women from university students to professionals. "We want it to be somewhere you can shop to feel special, but the price point is good," she said.

Charlo's Provisions and EateryCharlo's Provisions & Eatery

This new restaurant has already won accolades making it to the top of the Best of Springfield for their burgers. As Marsha O. said, “The best fried green tomatoes ever. We had so much good food.”

Springfield ReStore

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton has opened the Springfield ReStore on Derr Road. This is their second store in the region where they sell gently used products for home improvement and decoration. For example, people can find windows, appliances, light fixtures, home decor and more here. Some products are unused but donated, creating an opportunity to find incredible deals to be used when remodeling a home.

Tasty Wok

This Asian restaurant opened over the summer and features seasonal ingredients. Owner Linhang Ren told The Hub Springfield that his goal is "to bring about innovative dishes and an elevated experience on what great Asian Cuisine should taste like."

Existing Springfield companies are also growing. In addition to our strong and growing manufacturing sector, Springfield has attracted retail businesses, a large healthcare sector, restaurants and service sector businesses.
